I and Alok Verma , together , joined St. Stephen's College , Delhi , in 1975 in the same course.

Alok was a day scholar I was resident. Alok had studied in Delhi's prestigious St. Xavier's School.

After graduation in 1978, Alok was the first in that College batch to join the Civil Services. -IPS ( UT Cadre ).

He became a role model for others in his batch.

He cleared his Exams under the old pattern , From the following year ,on Kothari Commission 's recommendations new pattern ( Prelims + Mains ) came in to being.

Alok's exit should have been as glorious as his entry
