unregistered or unauthorized entities, via social media platforms like
WhatsApp, Telegram and other apps, encouraging them to deal in stocks
and F&O contracts. Keeping your best interests as our top priority,
here a few important points you need to keep in mind before and while
trading and investing.
Dos
- Maintain the secrecy of your login credentials (username & password) for internet trading/MyGeojit since you are responsible for all your transactions. Password should be unique and shall be changed periodically to ensure security.
- While placing orders through our branch office phone, ensure to provide clear and unambiguous instructions. In case you visit our branch office, please give your orders in writing via order slips.
- Report immediately if you do not receive Contract Notes within 24 hours.
- Keep a regular check of your Trading and Depository account balance/holdings. In case of any discrepancies, please e-mail
- Review weekly statements from Exchanges and Depositories about funds and securities balance. Compare these with the weekly account statement sent by us. In case of any discrepancies, please report to the Exchange immediately.
- Understand risk factors thoroughly before starting trades in Futures & Options, Margin Trading, Currency and Commodity segments.
Don'ts
- Do not believe in baseless and false assurances of guaranteed returns. There is no assurance of guaranteed or fixed periodic returns from the Capital Market. Brokers or their authorized persons or any of their associates are not authorized to offer such assurance and promises.

- Refrain from trading/investing based on unsolicited tips through WhatsApp, Telegram, YouTube, Facebook, SMS, calls, etc.

A surge in freight costs ----
The Baltic Exchange quoted West Africa to Asia spot VLCC rates at $142,900 per day at the end of last week, up 27% in seven days.
Spot VLCC earnings from Fujairah in the UAE have eased to just below $180,000 per day, down from close to $300,000 earlier in March.
Suezmax and aframax rates continue to move higher, with the market increasingly driven by disrupted trade flows and west-east arbitrage, however.
Tonne-miles are rising, and more tonnage is being pulled east.
Aframaxes on the US Gulf to Europe route are now earning around $235,000 per day, above Middle East VLCC levels.
