Billionaire investor Rakesh Jhunjhunwala had said that he expected all approvals for his new venture, Akasa Air, to be in place by August 15. But the airline is yet to receive the government’s nod. The Jalan-Kalrock consortium, incoming owners of Jet Airways, have announced that the grounded airline will restart domestic operations by the first quarter of 2022.

What’s delaying the take-off of Akasa and Jet

 
Jet Airways and Akasa Air are running well behind their launch schedules. They still need to meet several requirements before they can take off. With a busy schedule ahead, the DGCA may have little time for the two airlines.
